Roadmap: Hot Wallet Rate is coming — rewards for actually using 369wallet

Our product and engineering teams have been building Hot Wallet Rate, a rewards program that pays out to users who actively transact with 369wallet. Buying, staking, sending, receiving, swapping, and prediction-market positions all count toward your rate. Rolling out in the next major release.

369wallet roadmap — Hot Wallet Rate, the rewards program for active wallet usage

This is a roadmap note from the 369wallet product and engineering team. We're sharing it ahead of release because the design touches every active user of the wallet — and we want feedback before it ships.

What is Hot Wallet Rate

Hot Wallet Rate is a rewards program built into 369wallet that pays out to users who actively transact in the app. The more you do — and the broader the mix of actions — the higher your rate.

Think of it as a transparent, on-chain accrual layer that recognizes the work of running an active hot wallet: managing positions, settling trades, moving liquidity, taking views on markets. Today most of that activity is unrewarded; with Hot Wallet Rate it isn't.

Hot wallet, cold wallet — and why this is for the active user

369wallet is self-custodial. Strictly speaking, you can use it as a cold wallet: load it once, lock the device, and never touch it again. That's a legitimate use case and we'll always support it.

But Hot Wallet Rate is designed for the opposite mode — the user who treats their wallet as a daily-driver financial cockpit. Hot here means active, transacting, on-the-pulse. Cold storage doesn't accrue, by design.

Actions that accrue rate

At launch, these in-wallet actions count toward your Hot Wallet Rate:

  • Buying crypto. On-ramp purchases through our Transak integration (cards, bank transfers, local payment methods).
  • Staking. Locking supported assets to earn protocol yield while still accruing program rewards on top.
  • Sending and receiving. Real on-chain transfers in and out of your 369wallet address — gas-paid, settled.
  • Swaps. Same-chain and cross-chain swaps executed inside the wallet.
  • Prediction-market positions. Positions opened on predict.fun via the in-wallet connector.

The list will grow. Every new integration we ship — new chains, new dApps, new financial primitives — gets evaluated for Rate eligibility at design time, not bolted on after.

Why we're designing it this way

Three principles drove the design:

  1. Reward usage, not balance. Hot Wallet Rate accrues from what you do, not how much you hold. A small active user out-earns a large dormant one. We think that better matches what wallets actually are: tools, not vaults.
  2. Mix matters. Diversity of activity is rewarded. The same volume spread across buy + swap + predict + stake earns more than the same volume in one channel. The intent is to recognize the full surface area of being a sophisticated on-chain user.
  3. Self-custodial throughout. Funds never leave your address to "qualify." Tracking happens against on-chain state and the wallet's transaction history. There's no custodial product, no escrow, no opt-in deposit.

What we're still working on

Some pieces are deliberately held back from this announcement because they're still in design review:

  • The exact rate curves per action and per asset.
  • The token / settlement asset for payouts.
  • Cap structures and anti-sybil guardrails.
  • The dashboard surface inside 369wallet that lets you see your accrual in real time.

We'll publish each of these as they finalize. Expect an update here every couple of weeks as we approach the release window.

When

Hot Wallet Rate ships in the next major 369wallet release on Android. We'll cut the build, run a closed cohort first, then promote to the full Google Play Store release. iOS lands shortly after the platform's general availability.

"We've always thought wallets should reward people for using them, not penalize them for moving money around. Hot Wallet Rate is the cleanest way we've found to do that without any custodial nonsense." — 369wallet team
